Trip to Bekasih Temple
Bekasih temple is the biggest Hindu temple in Bali. It owns beautiful view from the top of temple area where we can see the wide nature panorama until to the ocean so that way this temple is many visited by tourists from all over the world. Besakih temple is located in Bekasih countryside, Rendang sub district, Karangasem regency, east part of the Island. It is located in southwest side bevel of mount Agung, the biggest mounts in Bali. It is because pursuant to Agung Mount confidence is holiest and highest mount in Bali Island.
Each regency has its own temple within the over-all compound, as do each of the caste groups. There is a total of 18 separate sanctuaries. The three main temples such as Penataran Agung Temple which is dedicated to Sang Hyang Widi Wasa, Kiduling Kreteg Temple which is dedicated to Brahma and Batu Madeg Temple which is dedicated to Wisnu. Penataran Agung Temple is the largest temple that has many Pelinggih buildings. In the area of Penataran Agung Temple, there are three shrines for worship that symbolize the stana of Tri Murti of God’s characteristics in Hindu Dharma Bali such as Gods of Brahma (the Creator), Gods of Vishnu (the Preserver) and Gods of Shiva (the Fuser or the Reincarnation).
This temple is easy to find because most people know it is the main destination for tourist when visiting Bali. It takes more than 40 minutes from Kintamani to Besakih Temple by car. Besakih Temple opens everyday from 9 am to 5 pm. There is a parking area that costs Rp. 2.000,- for motorcycle and Rp. 3.000,- for car and the ticket entrance costs Rp. 15.000,- per person. Tourists who visit Besakih Temple must wear clothes politely to respect others who are praying as a place to worship or may rent a sarong before go into the temple for around Rp. 30.000,-. There is also a tour guide who can explain the history of Besakih Temple that costs around Rp 150.000 per person. The unique thing that can be found in the temple is red banana that costs Rp. 2.500,- per piece.
